“Excellent B&B and hosts” My boyfriend and I stayed at the Piazza Tasso B&B for 3 nights in September and could not have chosen a better place to stay. The location was perfect, just off the Piazza Tasso, with the train station and a supermarket less than a 5-min walk away. The bus to the airport was near the train station. It was also a short walk to the marina for thr ferries. The B&B is surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants etc. We booked the Excelsior room and had two balconies facing the main square. Breakfast was brought to us everey morning. On arrival on the first day, there was a small bottle of prosecco waiting for us, as well as a fruit basket which was replenished daily. The room was clean and quiet. Wifi was available in the room but I could only get reception in certain parts of the room. The host, Silvana, has lived in Sorrento for many years and knows all the best places to go. All of her restaurant recommendations were spot on and she helped us find an excellent limoncello shop. She also organised a boat tour to Capri for us. On our first morning there we had to leave very early - before breakfast time - to get to Pompeii. We told Silvana this when we checked in and she asked us what we wanted for breakfast and went out to the bakery straightaway and bought us some food for the next morning so that we would not miss out on breakfast. The service was amazing and we were extremely glad that we picked the Piazza Tasso B&B. Would not hesitate to come back if I'm in Sorrento again. We met Jury on the last day who was also very friendly and sweet. Thank you, Silvana and Jury, for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable!
— from London, United Kingdom, on Oct 23, 2014“Great B&B!” We made a late booking for a 3 night stay in Sorrento. Many B&B's and hotels were full and fortunately Jury and Silvana offered us a 1 night stay in a basic room and 2 nights in the Excelsior room. We cannot say enough about our Hosts! They moved our luggage for us from room to room, they gave us recommendations of where to eat and how to get to places in and around Sorrento. The Excelsior room is fantastic, with two balconies overlooking downtown Sorrento and Piazza Tasso. There isn't much better than having breakfast on the balcony on a sunny morning or closing the evening with a glass of vino on that same balcony. The rooms are very clean as well as the bathrooms. Having experienced some very tiny showers during our stay in other parts of Italy, it was nice to find a decent sized shower in the bathroom. If you drive a car, the parking garage is a short walk up the street or they will have your car delivered. The service and care given by Jury and Silvana was second to no other place we stayed during our two weeks in Italy (including our stay at a high end hotel in Rome for a business conference). We drove the Amalfi Coast which has views that are out of Nat'l Geographic. We made our way to Pompeii (with Silvana's instruction, taking the train is the way to go) and find your way down to the Marina Grande for some great seafood. If you are planning a trip to Sorrento, book early and stay at the Piazza Tasso B&B! Stayed October 2014
— from Seattle, Washington, on Oct 22, 2014“Fantastic Stay” We started our 14 day trip to Italy in Sorrento. The first stay was very important because it set the precedent for the rest of our vacation. We truly enjoyed Piazza Tasso B&B, the room itself, the location, the balcony, and the wonderful hosts, Silvana and Jury. The communication from them even before we left for Italy was outstanding. They helped us coordinate how to get to the B&B, and how to meet to get the keys. They went out of their way to provide us with a breakfast the first morning, even though we were leaving for our tour before the normal breakfast hours. It seemed important to Silvana and Jury that we were comfortable, almost like we were living in their home. The room was lovely and spacious with a beautiful tile floor, full length doors leading to the balcony, and a beautiful wood armoire. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless and had everything we needed. Even though the rooms overlook a busy square, once you close the doors leading to the balcony, it shut out all the noise. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine, watching the people and activity below. Staying there made us feel like we were part of the Sorrento lifestyle. We will definitely recommend Piazza Tasso B&B to our friends, and will stay there again when we make a return visit to Sorrento. Stayed September 2014
— from Crystal Lake, Illinois, on Sep 23, 2014“Amazing Honeymoon” We stayed at Piazza Tasso for 11 nights in June this year for our honeymoon. It was a fantastic place to use as a base to go off to all the different attractions the area has to offer as you are located right in the centre of Sorrento, near to the bus station and for boat trips. The B&B itself was wonderful, we couldn't have hoped for a more friendly and welcoming place to spend our honeymoon. Silvana is such a great host and looked after us brilliantly the whole time we stayed. The breakfasts were great and we ate them out on our balcony every morning watching the world go by in the piazza. Silvana arranged lots of trips and activities for us that we wouldn't have been able to arrange by ourselves, she made the trip so much easier and we definitely got more out of our time their because of her (and her husband Jury's) help. The room we stayed in was beautiful and clean the whole time we were staying and lovely surprises like fresh flowers and fruit made the honeymoom even more special. Silvana even packed us a breakfast to take with us on our early flight on the day we left. Silvana and Jury (and the other staff) show such kindness and attention to detail, they really have put thought into every aspect of staying at the B&B. (Silvana's restaurant recommendations were very good too!) I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Sorrento and we will definitely be going back one day! Stayed June 2014, traveled as a couple
— from Hereford, United Kingdom, on Sep 21, 2014“"Fantastic"!” This place is a gem and I can not recommend it enough! the owners, Silvana and Jury, were fantastic hosts! Our room was spacious and cleaned every day. We had our breakfast served to us every morning on our balcony overlooking the square. Excellent location close to the pier, train and bus stations enabled us to easily visit Positano, Amalfi, Capri, Naples, Pompeii and Ercalano all in the week. Silvana was so helpful arranging things for us, unbelievable personal hospitality. great price for such an amazing place. The personal touches such as fresh fruit in our room daily were so nice and on the morning of our early departure, breakfast had been packed up for us along with drinks, yogurts etc. being left in our fridge. Look forward to our return to piazza Tasso B & B. Room Tip: Request a superior or Excelsior room...worth every penny. Fantastic views from balcony of the Piazzo...
